Job Description

General Summary

The Consumer Credit Analyst III is responsible for making credit decisions that meet acceptable underwriting standards within HCA’s policies and procedures as well as adhering to all State and Federal regulatory compliance. This position possesses excellent negotiating skills, operates with a higher level of autonomy, and supports the Unit Leads with monitoring the override queue, taking escalated rehashes and mentoring new analysts. 

Essential Job Function

•         Analyze information from credit applications and credit reporting agencies to make sound credit decisions while effectively negotiating the terms and conditions of loan decisions.  Ability to balance the demands of Production, Sales Support, Risk, and Quality Assessments as established

•         Take escalated rehash calls for the region.  Review override queue, assist in Special Credit when needed, monitor the decision turn time and mentor/coach/train less seasoned analysts.  Actively participate in team meetings and Calibrations to communicate, share trends, review Policies & Procedures and team goals.

•         Manage the profitability drivers of assigned dealers portfolio in line with company strategy

•         Conduct customer interviews and investigations when needed to facilitate credit decisions or assist in funding process.  Coach and assist dealers to resolve funding issues and reduce CIT

•         Collaborate with other departments for effective management of dealer communication, service levels and complaint resolution including but not limited to Collections, Funding, Sales and Customer Service. Perform all other duties as assigned.

Knowledge and Skills

•         Strong analytical skills with a high attention to detail and accuracy

•         Excellent verbal, written and interpersonal communication skills. Communicates in a confident/professional manner 

•         Self-starter with excellent time management and leadership skills

•         Well versed on company product offerings, reporting and measurement systems

•         Ability to negotiate, influence and collaborate both with customer and employees

•         Enhanced industry knowledge and understanding of how a dealership operates

Education and Experience

•         High School graduate, College Degree strongly preferred

•         5 yrs. of experience as a Credit Analyst, or 3-5 yrs. of experience as a Credit Analyst 2 yrs. equivalent auto experience

•         Funding knowledge, thorough knowledge of the credit review process

•         Collections/skip tracing/fraud investigation experience strongly preferred

•         Prior outside/inside sales experience preferred

Physical Requirements and Working Condition

-Employees in this class are subject to extended periods of sitting, standing and walking, vision to monitor and moderate noise levels. Work is performed in an office environment.
