Job Description

General Summary:

The Sr. Analyst, Profitability Reporting is responsible for supporting the acquisition team with profitability analysis for product, pricing, and policy decisions.  This is an analyst position within the acquisition management team charged with analyzing and reporting consumer and commercial profitability by OEM. 

Essential Job Function:


1.       Maintain reports that track consumer and commercial acquisitions profit performance to plan, highlighting trends and impacts of recent product, pricing and policy actions on profit performance. 

2.       Lead Dealer level profitability management by generating/presenting quarterly Negative ROA review to leadership and operational partners, maintaining commercial pricing model on monthly basis, and analyzing commercial pricing proposals for ROA impact, accuracy, risks, and opportunities.

3.       Lead Commercial ROA management by developing targets, ensuring data consistency, highlighting relevant trends, and leading discussion with operations partners and leadership

4.       Validate subvention and contribution inputs and contributions in preparation for and during the OEM Monthly Billing process, obtaining management approval and supporting automation/innovation.

5.       Provide ad-hoc acquisition ROA analysis to FP&A team as needed

6.       Perform all other duties as assigned.

Knowledge and Skills:


•         SQL querying skills.  Ability to extract, analyze and draw insight from data in enterprise databases.

•         Presentation, communication, and organizational skills

•         Core financial skills; ability to establish links between operational and financial data will be important

•         Exceptional attention to detail and quality

•         Excellent verbal and written communication skills

•         Strong orientation toward results coupled with reputation for integrity, creativity and good judgment

•         Must have the ability to challenge, when appropriate, existing practices

Education and Experience:

•     Bachelor’s degree required. BA/BS Accounting / Computer Science / Business / MIS (or equivalent work experience to substitute for education) from a highly rated school; MBA a plus but not required

•     5 years of solid financial modeling experience (product pricing and profitability, program or business unit profitability, building financial and business cases and so on)

•     Hands-on experience with data extraction, manipulation and presentation

•     Experience with languages such as SQL, SAS or VBA

•     Solid understanding of data in financial services organizations and associated technologies

•     Financial experience; experience with an auto finance, mortgage, or banking organization is preferred

•     Major consulting firm / auto industry experience a plus



Physical Requirements and Working Condition:

Employees in this class are subject to extended periods of sitting, standing and walking, vision to monitor and moderate noise levels. Work is performed in an office environment.
