The Manager, Risk Governance and Data Management will report into the Head of Risk and is responsible for managing the risk governance processes of the organization and to design, implement and manage robust risk policies and procedures. This role will also set risk policy and procedure standards, align risk policies to regulatory requirements/guidance and implement a sustainable process for managing governance of and compliance with these policies. In addition, this position is responsible for collaboration with IT to implement an effective data mart to improve HCCA’s current data and reporting environment.
  • Regularly review and assess the Risk management policy, strategic and operational risk to ensure regulatory compliance and effective risk management is maintained
  • Maintain accurate and up to date risk policies and procedures in NAVEX system
  • Manage the administration of the Risk Control Committee (RCC), including  the committee charter
  • Ensure the preparation, collation and distribution of agendas, meeting information packs, minutes and reports and manage subsequent actions for RCC meetings
  • Manage inventory of RCC agenda, material, and approval sheet and minutes
  • Maintain a prioritized roadmap to address data and reporting gaps and improve controls, design and testing practices
  • Lead reporting initiatives within the enterprise data management program in order to strengthen HCCA’s risk data aggregation capabilities and internal risk reporting practices, in turn, enhancing the risk management and decision making processes at HCCA
  • Provide input to strategy and design of new systems
  • Coach IT team members on designing appropriate solutions and presenting to related audiences
  • Manage testing and validation of all data used for risk analytics & reporting
  • Coordinate with the IT department, business strategy, and business teams to develop proper risk data mart across platforms
  • Work closely with vendors providing risk-related services and data to make purchasing decisions

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience
  • 8 years related auto finance/captive finance/bank industry experience highly preferred
  • 3 years of experience developing and implementing quality assurance review plans, compliance plan and drafting policy and procedures
  • Proven understanding of applicable legal and regulatory compliance is an asset
  • Multidisciplinary experience in risk, data management and vendor management
  • Strong critical thinking and decision making skills
  • Good communicator and negotiator with interpersonal skills to effectively establish and maintain relationships
  • Knowledge of data management principles and familiarity with data marts
  • Awareness of the principles of effective project management, risk mitigation, risk management and governance
