Job Description

General Summary
The Manager, Product Development & Analytics I is responsible for supporting the management, improvement and maintenance of HCA’s products, programs (both internal and external), pricing and incentives in order to maximize sales efficiency and meet company objectives. This position assists in the prioritization, and tracking of all departmental pricing, product, competitive analysis and sales planning initiatives and projects. 
 
Duties and Responsibilities
Assist in the development of business cases and approval request documents for pricing actions and programs. Coordinate with finance, risk and other counterparts to analyze proposed programs and to ensure alignment with HCA strategic direction. Build financial models to support proposals. (i.e. objective, financial benefits (costs), and return on assets).
 
Conduct competitive analysis to support growth initiatives and recommendations for programs, products and processes. The competitive scope will include both new and existing products, programs and promotions.
 
Complete ad-hoc assignments and reporting as requested by Management and/or Executives.
 
Develop an understanding of company’s strategy, business, and objectives. Understand products, programs, pricing and incentives.  Help to analyze and assess current effectiveness.
 
Help to develop pricing and program development competencies among team. Perform all other duties as assigned.

Job Requirements

Knowledge and Skills
 
Strong written communication skills, must understand technical terms related to retail, lease, and commercial financing.  Able to communicate complex terms and concepts to management both visually and in writing.
 
Ability to extract, analyze and draw insight from data in enterprise databases.
 
Programming skills in PL/SQL and object oriented languages including Visual Basic.
 
Expert skills w/ Access, Excel, SAS database and analysis tools.
 
Advanced knowledge of Excel, VBA programming and Macros required.
 
Solid execution skills complemented by analytical, quantitative and problem solving skills.
 
Knowledge of automotive industry and understanding of retail, lease and commercial financing a significant plus.
 
Strong attention to detail and quality.
 
Orientation toward results coupled with reputation for integrity, creativity and good judgment.
 
Must have the ability to challenge, when appropriate, existing practices.

Bachelor’s degree required. BA/BS Marketing / Sales Management / Business (or equivalent work experience to substitute for education); MBA a plus but not required.
 
4 years of product development, pricing or origination risk experience, preferably with an auto finance, mortgage, credit card or banking organization.
 
Captive auto finance experience preferred.
 
Major consulting firm / auto industry experience a plus.
 
SAS Certifications preferred: Certified Base Programmer for SAS 9 and Certified Advanced Programmer for SAS 9.
 
Big Data experience preferred: Using SQL to query data from Enterprise Data Warehouse
 
Physical Requirements and Working Condition
Employees in this class are subject to extended periods of sitting, standing and walking, vision to monitor and moderate noise levels. Work is performed in an office environment.
