Job Description

General Summary:

The Manager, Data Governance & Strategy I plays a key role within the Enterprise Data Services department. This position supports the Data Governance initiative, raising data quality and the support of related projects across the enterprise. Works with data stewards and data custodians to implement and maintain data governance programs and improve data quality. This position develops and maintains a working relationship with various information support teams to leverage data value across the enterprise.

Duties and Responsibilities:

Data Governance Management:

• Administer Data Governance activities and ensure collaboration from Data Stewards, Data Owners, business SMEs and IT stakeholders

• Produce bi-weekly reports demonstrating data governance effectiveness

• Monitor and manage projects timeline and status

• Produce and maintain Data Governance documentation and artifacts

• Mature data documentation standards and content to meet any internal and external needs

Data Governance Engagement:

• Perform research and analysis to rationalize and support the various Data Governance programs and Data Quality initiatives.

• Identify and document metrics to measure and track Data Quality and the progress of Data Governance on the enterprise.

• Develop summarized Data Governance / Data Quality analysis and dashboards using Business Intelligence reporting.

• Work with several cross-functional areas, IT, DBAs, ETL, Data Modeling, BI Administration, Reporting, and data users to research and resolve issues.

• Comply with all security policies and procedures, to ensure that the highest level of system and data confidentiality, integrity and availability is maintained.

• Train and articulate to the other departmental professionals regarding the benefits and need for Data Governance and Data Quality.

• Identify, document and coordinate third party data sources across the enterprise.

Subject Matter Expert Coaching:

• Consult with and coach team members where skill gaps exist;

• Perform and/or coordinate code reviews and provide feedback and additional resources

• Perform all other duties as assigned.

Job Requirements

Education and Experience:

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, MIS, Business Administration, Economics, Finance, Mathematics, Statistics OR equivalent combination of education and experience.
• 6 years of total combined experience in MIS, Information Management or similar reporting/analytics function

Physical Requirements and Working Condition:
Employees in this class are subject to extended periods of sitting, standing and walking, vision to monitor and moderate noise levels. Work is performed in an office environment.
