Job Description

General Summary:

Manage application project and enhancement initiatives supporting the Hyundai Capital America business department areas.  Display complete ownership of all IT needs for a given business vertical.  Work closely with the application development and infrastructure teams assigning project resources, delivering new and enhanced technologies, infrastructure, planning releases, upgrades and patches.

Essential Job Function:

1.   Manage/Lead complex business enhancement initiatives by coordinating with internal Business Systems teams, assembling technical team members, assigning individual responsibilities, identifying appropriate resources/external vendors, and developing schedules and managing external vendors/internal resources to ensure the successful implementation of the assigned applications.

2.   Promote strong communication channels between IT and business stakeholders.  Work with HCA business units and project teams to identify requirements, develop specific solutions that meet requirements and objectives and ensure alignment with HCA/HCS standards and PMO guidelines.

3.   Monitor enhancement project milestones to ensure planned deliverables remain on track.  Communicate at risk deliverables to the appropriate management team members and follow through to resolution.

4.   Oversee the processes of interviewing, hiring, and training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems.  Staff supervision, performance evaluations, initiating and managing progressive discipline within company policies. Make sound independent decisions and weigh company risk involved in resolution of operational issues and project related decisions.

5.   Perform all other duties as assigned.

Knowledge and Skills:


•    Strong knowledge of financial industry processes or software development process and workflows.  Able to translate this knowledge into detailed business requirements that meet the business objectives of individual projects.


•    Strong oral/written communication and presentation skills, able to convey complex technical concepts to non-technical peers and management staff.


•    Lead Project Managers and internal project teams consisting of internal employees from IT and the business, vendors, and vendor partner through all phases of project management methodology.


•    Set clear expectations for tasks and deliverables, communicating clearly to team and providing proper materials/documentation when necessary. Ensure changes are managed effectively.


•    Excellent management, communication, and teamwork skills, with proven ability to lead, motivate and mentor a diverse group of distributed engineers and collaborate effectively with other functions within the company.


•    Strong vendor management skills that keep external partners accountable and productive.


•    Automotive finance or financial industry Call Center knowledge a plus.


•    Strong interpersonal skills, able to build consensus and work closely with multiple staff members.


•    Advanced skills in Microsoft Office.


Education and Experience:

Bachelor’s Degree and 8 years of experience in the Automotive Finance or Information Technology industry, with 5 years in a leadership role.

The position requires a responsible, team oriented, well-organized individual with strong time management, communications skills and the ability to handle multiple concurrent projects while adapting quickly to rapidly changing priorities.

At least 10 years of full software life-cycle delivery under multiple methodologies Strong organizational and communication skills, both written and oral.

Strong vendor management skills that keep external partners accountable.  Must have experience with SOW’s and RFPs.

Physical Requirements and Working Condition

 

Employees in this class are subject to extended periods of sitting, standing and walking, vision to monitor and moderate noise levels. Work is performed in an office environment.
