Job Description

A Collector II is responsible for managing a queue of delinquent accounts from 60 to 89 days past due and taking some inbound calls. The main job function is to make contact with customers and through the negotiation of payment arrangements to bring the account current while complying with internal policy and procedures. Additional duties include repossession management including the assignment and follow up of the repossession process. The Collector II position is vital to loss mitigation and overall company performance.

Essential functions of the position:
Manage a queue of accounts from 60-89 days delinquent
Contact customers via telephone and make arrangements to bring the account current
Document all actions taken on an account
Update customer information such as phone numbers, e-mail, and address
Perform medium skip tracing utilizing internal tools such as Accurint and credit bureaus
Manage repossession process from initial assignment to vehicle pickup
All other duties as assigned 

Secondary functions of the position:
Basic computer skill – Knowledge of windows including word and excel
Strong communication skills – Ability to clearly communicate thoughts and ideas
Strong negotiation skills – Ability to negotiate mutually beneficial arrangements with a customer
Skip Tracing Skills – Ability to utilize 411, reverse lookup, and other skip trace tools
Strong listening skills – Ability to listen and understand directions

2-4 years collection experience (automotive preferred)
High school graduate
Bachelor’s degree preferred
