Job Description

The Bilingual Collections Analyst (Contract) will report into the Senior Manager, Collections and is responsible the assessment of past due accounts.  They will be involved in maximizing collection of overdue payments from customers while minimizing cost and loan losses.  There will be a focus on following up on collection files, ensuring promises are kept and followed up on. 

Responsibilities:
  • Assess past due accounts, collect accounts in a timely manner and decrease roll rates
  • Follow up of collection files, ensure promises are kept and followed up on
  • Conduct timely and effective collection follow up on assigned loans in varying stages of arrears
  • Make sound decisions on accepting, rejecting or offering amended payment terms and settlements while adhering to policy
  • Work effectively with dealerships, external vendors and internal partners
  • Review reports from external vendors and analyze
  • Manage vendor relationships on SLA requirements, reporting and data analytics, charge off recommendations
  • Quality assurance on collection of accounts
  • Provide recommendations and updates to senior manager on collection activity

  • High school graduate, College Degree preferred
  • 4 years’ experience as Collections officer
  • Knowledge of Canadian collection practices 
  • Knowledge of credit application process
  • Experienced in late stage collections up to charge off
  • FiServ knowledge a plus
  • Intermediate experience in excel
  • Thorough knowledge of compliance laws as related to collection of automotive accounts
  • Must be able to read, write and speak French
