General Summary:

The Analyst, Recovery II (Impound) for the Impound Unit has 3 primary responsibilities: 1. Impound Account Management - Work each lien/ impound account till completed. Ensure timely follow up to minimize expense or loss. Attempt to contact the customer to determine his intentions with respect to the vehicle; 2. Impound Account resolution- Validate state laws and compliance to ensure the tow yard / body shop accurately charges the proper storage and fees. Responsibilities include negotiating the release of the vehicle for the lowest cost possible; ensuring that the impound yard / body shop has handled the towing, storage and billing in compliance with state and local laws and charges appropriate fees. 3. Lose no vehicles to unintended lien sale. The Analyst, Recovery II (Impound) also assesses the value of the collateral in comparison to the fees to secure the vehicle and makes a value decision on whether to repossess or abandon in coordination with the Unit lead.

Essential Job Function:

Contact customer to determine their intent with regard to impounded/seized vehicles
Collect/Recover past due from customer 
Contact impound yard or repair shops regarding impounded / stored vehicle
Review charges assessed by impound yard for compliance with state and local laws
Negotiate to reduce storage and other charges
Assess value of vehicle versus costs to secure
Recommend referral to outside counsel as needed
Assign and follow through on out-for-repossession vehicles 
Ensure the payout fees are properly advanced by the repossess agents
Handle incoming Recovery and Collection calls
Work to resolve problem impound accounts including police impounds restricting return, analyze complex insurance repair invoices related to repair liens and work with insurance companies regarding two party liable repair checks
All other duties as assigned

Secondary Job Functions:

Knowledge and Skills
Experienced in delivering customer service excellence
Excellent written and oral communication skills
Proficient in Microsoft Office

  • High school diploma or general education degree.
  • BA Degree is preferred or equivalent work experience
  • 3 – 5 years in a collections & recovery environment
  • Background in automotive financial services a plus
  • Experience and knowledge in handling impounded vehicles strongly desired
  • Knowledge of Daybreak, LeasePak, Siebel is preferred
