Job Description

General Summary

The principal purpose of this position is to research and process notification of bankruptcy filings received for our customers and to ensure compliance with bankruptcy law after notification. The Senior Specialist will be responsible for identifying, comprehending, classifying and routing various bankruptcy correspondence from the courts, debtors, attorneys and other interested parties and routing them accordingly. Also reviews, notates and processes all Department bills through JD Edwards

Essential Job Function

Login all new bankruptcy notifications
Opening, identifying and distributing of all bankruptcy correspondence
Obtaining and verifying new bankruptcy information utilizing Pacer
File Proof of claims and reaffirmation electronically
Review, get approvals and process all bills through HCA accounts payable systems
Handle credit bureau disputes and updates electronically
Create and distribute bankruptcy files to Bankruptcy Specialist
Communicate bankruptcy filing to Remarketing and any outside vendor as needed
Send notices to debtor’s attorney requesting proof of insurance
All other duties as assigned

Knowledge and Skills

Good oral and written communication skills 
Be able to multi-task and have organizational and prioritization skills
Advanced computer skills required, intermediate plus in Microsoft Office or similar applications
Type 40 words per minute

• High School diploma or GED
• Bankruptcy and/or Auto Finance industry experience is highly preferred
